Caesar was Found Alive and Well

Matt, Caesar’s Dad, got a call from the Shaker Hts/Oakwood Dog Warden advising that they believed they had his dog at the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter in Valley View. Matt was at work so he called Lilly and I to go and see if it was in fact Caesar. We got to the shelter shortly around noon and discovered that it was him! Staff told us that Caesar was found in Shaker Hts on Sunday 7-18-10 (he ran away or was taken 7-17-10/ 8:30pm) and transported to the Shelter by Oakwood’s Dog warden on Monday. By luck a worker at the shelter named Larry remembered seeing one of our color reward flyers that had been faxed or emailed in and put two and two together when he was cleaning the “Pit” section. Larry said that this was not his “usual” job and it was pure luck that he had just happened to see the flyer. Larry also said that Caesar was due to be euthanized in two days (7-24-10) if no one had claimed him by then.
THANK YOU ALL so very much – Caesar would not have been recognized and recovered (in the nick of time!) were it not for the attentiveness, care, and concern of loving “dog people” like you! |

Caesar is found safe and sound, back at his palace with his Dad. THANK YOU so much to everyone for all of your efforts.
A celebration in honor of his return, including a corn hole tournament with proceeds benefitting the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter and the Euclid Pound, was held this Saturday at Dave’s house. Also, a cute picture of Caesar, his dad, and uncle are shown above, as is a map showing Caesar’s big journey.
