Clear the Kennels and Fill the Baskets’ – Spring Adoptathon 2012

Date posted: May 1

The Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter is once again celebrating our Annual Spring Adoptathon 2012, starting Friday, May 4th and Saturday, May 5th, 10:30am until 6pm!

This year, however, we are looking to go above and beyond our previous adoption numbers and are looking to “Clear the Kennels!” Spring brings in so many wonderful puppies and dogs who have become strays to no fault to themselves and we are asking all dog-lovers to open up their hearts and ADOPT! With our 72 kennels nearly filled at all times, we have your best forever friend so come on down.

If you cannot adopt, help “Fill the Baskets!” Instead of our usual Basket Raffle, we are asking the whole family to donate much-needed canine items to fill the baskets located throughout the Shelter lobby. We want all of our pooches to have a special spring this year. All donors will receive a paw or bone Certificate to sign and post in the rotunda to show their support. Bring the whole family.

Also, all families who adopt will receive a coupon for a FREE session during our Annual Santa Photos (date and times to be announced at a later date). YOU are the difference in these pooches’ lives so stop in, find a friend, donate and help “Clear the Kennels and Fill the Baskets!”

April Volunteer Orientation

Date posted: April 15

With Spring leaving and summer coming, there is no better time than now to volunteer! We all know that you love dogs so join us during our next volunteer orientation, Sunday, April 22nd, beginning at 10:30am at the Shelter. Please arrive around 10:20am to start working on the necessary paperwork.

There are age requirements and if you are 18 years and older you are considered an adult. If you are 14-17 years old you need to have your parent/legal guardian accompany you during the orientation and every time after that. The parent/legal guardian will also have to go through orientation and volunteer with the teen at all times. Anyone 13 years of age and younger are not allowed to volunteer due to liability. If you are looking for school community services hours, please inform Kara Archer of this before the orientation to discuss extra requirements in regards to the necessary paperwork.

Fund-raising season is also approaching, so join our team today!
