Phinneas

I came to live with my new family about a month ago. I have gained weight and am becoming the diva that I was always meant to be. My mom was worried that I would be a ‘garbage hound’ forever. I would eat anything when I first moved in, whether it was edible or not. She doesn’t understand that is how I survived before Critter Control found me. Now that I am sure there is plenty of food, I have become choosy. I am cute when I refuse treats, pushing them away with my closed muzzle.

I have a new brother named Jojo. He is older, but I am taller. He wears out easier than I do, so I get all the toys when he falls asleep. Mom buys 2 of everything, but he wants them both and I want the one that he has. This picture was taken when I got the new rope bone away from him.

I am all girl. I have a pink leash and collar. I love to smell the flowers outside, but sure jump when a bee comes out of one. I also love the sun and the wind in my face. Sometime I forget to potty when I go out because I am so busy soaking up the sun and fresh air. I am getting better though.

I sleep with mom and dad, Jojo and Annie. Annie is a Siamese cat. She is not any fun and will not play with me, but is nice to sleep with . The cats here do not know how to have real fun, but I will keep trying to teach them. They do not seem to be learning very fast though.

I love to go riding in the car and have even been inside at mom’s work. I barked at her boss, Pat, but Pat loves me anyway.

Mom has been posting some of the other dogs to her FaceBook page. She wants them to have homes too. She says she got the best dog that you had, but the others are pretty cute too. Thank you for helping me find my forever home and giving me a place to stay when I needed it.

Love, Sissy

Phinneas

We adopted shortstop #12 a few weeks ago and he then became Phinneas a.k.a Phinn. We love him dearly. He is very lovable, sweet, and kind. One of his favorite things to do is cuddle up and sleep with his people. Phinn also loves to go for a walk with his new best friend Liam pictured with him. Phinn has been a great addition to our home, we couldn’t imagine not having him. He was exactly what we were looking for.

PAWS 4 A Cause annual Adopt-A-Thon and Family Fun Day is coming up, so come join the Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter as we participate in the festivities. This year the event will take place on Saturday, May 15th from 9:30 am until 2:30 pm at the Moreland Hills Polo Grounds. The Shelter will be just one of several local rescue organizations that will have a booth and information about adoptable dogs and puppies that are currently in the Shelter waiting for homes. There will also be events that you and your family can participate in, such as dog walks, pet contests, and much more. Summer is right around the corner so kick it off with a pet-filled day of fun!!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Cuyahoga County Animal Shelter Adoptathon. This year the Shelter partnered with the North Shore Animal League America and over 2,000 nation-wide shelters to help save homeless animals and place them in forever homes. During the event, Saturday, May 1st and Sunday, May 2nd more than 380 individuals walked through the Shelter and there were 16 dogs and puppies placed with new families! A special thank you to the staff and volunteers who were here during those days, making sure that all the families and the pooches were happy.
