Thank you so much for giving us our dog Redd. He is the handsome one on the right. This picture was taken at the dog park, and that was his playmate for the day. We adpoted Redd (Rusty as you guys named him) around the end of June or the beginning of July. He is such a lover. My son who is 15 has said over and over again “Who could turn such a sweet dog loose?” He loves to cuddle. He has learned to sit, lay down and to give his paw. He loves to play fetch – he will run back and forth all day. He will get one of his toys and drop it in front of you while you are watching tv, waiting for you to pay him some attention. He is a very loving dog with such a sweet passive disposition. My son loves his “Buddy” as he sometimes calls him.
Me and my boyfriend were moving in together, which was a big step. We work different hours so I told him I wanted a dog companion & body guard. We had about two weeks before our house was ready to move into but I wanted to start looking early because I wanted to find THEE dog for us. One Saturday afternoon we visited the kennel. We immediately fell in love with our dog, it was a perfect match. There were two other dogs we looked at but no one was like our Nala. She was underweight & had nicks all over her nose and legs, but her imperfections were perfect for us. The shelter told me she had to get fixed, so I was to come down to pay and fill out paper work on St. Patrick’s Day. When I got there, little did I know she was already fixed and ready to come home! We had nothing ready and I was very nervous. That evening when my boyfriend got home, we moved over everything we could to our new house. It was stressful but worth it when Nala immediately jumped on the bed to cuddle. Today Nala enjoys tons of walks and playing in the dog park. She’s especially fond of her sister kitties and we can’t wait til we are prepared to get another dog to add to our family! Thanks to everyone there for being so kind to us.
Hi, I found Izzy short for Isabella at the Kennel August 1, 2009. She was shy and scared and and her hair was long and she needed to be groomed! She was found by the kennel the day before. I fell in love with her the first time I held her. I had to wait to August 6, 2009 to adopt her because she just arrived at the kennel. August 6th came and I adopted her however, I had to wait 2 weeks for her to come home because she had to be spayed and she had a little cough so she was finally mine on August 20th! We all bonded instantly with her! She follows me everywhere! Izzy and my other dog Frankie (Collie/Chow) play together chasing each other around the house! And we have a small house! (LOL). She sleeps with Frankie and they act like they have always been together! That makes me happy! I took her to the vet and she is in perfect health and she was groomed! She had to get a short haircut because she was a little matted but we are going to grow her hair a little longer again! But she is very happy!
Our lives changed forever on June 14, 2008. This was the day that we met Haley, a 10 month old Golden Retriever/Chow mix, who left a lasting impression on our hearts. We were allowed to bring her home that following Friday and she instantly became the center of our world. Her happy and joyous disposition is infectious. Everyone immediately falls in love with her beautiful light brown eyes and friendly personality. She is like a real live teddy bear. Because she instantly became a part of the family, we knew we had to stop home on our wedding day that following October to have pictures taken with her. While the three of us were posing for pictures Haley quickly turned her head and gave me the biggest kiss that covered the entire right side of my face! I couldn’t help but laugh as it was completely unexpected and ended up becoming one of my favorite pictures of the whole day. That November, we adopted a 3 month old little brother for Haley who we appropriately named Comet. Comet is a yellow lab/boxer and has added even more joy and memorable moments to our lives. He is very energetic and is eager to learn as much as he can about the world around him. He has a big heart and the sweetest brown eyes. He loves being the center of attention and getting hugs. He has become our 50 lbs lap dog. Haley and Comet are two of the greatest blessings in our lives. All of the laughter and unconditional love they have given are truly priceless. Each day is more special and precious because of them.
