This is Marley. I adopted her about 3 months ago and I love her. My Golden Lucy, who is 11, has become more of a puppy wither her around. She keeps me on my toes, and has been amazing! She is a sweetheart, and I love learning new things about her as she continues to grow as part of my family. This happy adoption makes me eager for another one! Thank you!!!
Hi- Our family adopted Lola, (who was named Abby at your shelter) in August 2006. I found her listing on Petfinder and came down to see her with my youngest son that day. I just knew the moment I saw her, she would be my dog. The shelter was getting ready to close, and I needed to bring my husband back to see her, but I told her I would be back for her. The rest is history, and almost 3 years later, Lola has become such an important member of our family. We love her so much and can not imagine our life without her. Thank you so much for all that you do for these dogs and for giving us our Lola.
When we first saw Lady and her sad eyes we knew she was the dog for us and we fell in love. But, due to certian circumstances we were unable to adopt her right away. We came back as much as possible to visit with her and as soon as she became available to adopt on May 13th we were there to get her. Our hearts could not wait another day. At first she was shy and timid about wandering around the house. She actually found the pillow we had for her and curled up on it and would not move off of it. But after alot of TLC she has come around. She loves the outdoors. Going for long walks followed by a nice long nap has transformed her from the sad Lady to the happy and outgoing Lady within a matter of days. We are so happy to have found such a great dog. Thank you CCAS for bring us together.

We’re happy to report that our 5th Annual Adoptathon and Gift Basket Raffle was a huge success! Not only did 43 of Cuyahoga County’s stray and abandoned dogs find new homes from May 12-16 but $8,035 was raised from the raffle of 16 fabulous gift baskets. Check the bottom of the home page in the thank you section to see the list of basket winners. ALL of the proceeds benefit the shelter’s Best Friends’ Medical Relief Fund so that many more dogs that arrive at the shelter either sick or injured will have a second chance at a happy life. Our heartfelt thanks go out to everyone who participated by either adopting a dog, donating items for the raffle, purchasing raffle tickets, or volunteering to make this event such a success!
This is Cheech. We have had him for a little over a year now. Jay and I went down almost every day to the CCK to look for the perfect dog. We knew exactly what we were looking for. I will never forget that Tuesday morning we walked in and saw him in the cage. I knew he was the one. We ran right out to the desk to see if he was available. That was it. He is with us in everything we do. Thank you so much for finding him. Without you we wouldn’t have him now.
This is Lucky! Formerly Eddie there. Our family is new to Ohio and my son and I stopped in one weekend and there was this sad dog that appeared to have lost his spirit. I told him that I would be back for him in the morning to meet Max, (Jack Russell) they got along great! A good sign because Max is well…. a jack russell! Lucky came home with us and has been a true blessing in our lives. He is the greatest dog in the world to us. He is so sweet and obeys ALL commands!! Get this and Lucky gets along with my himmies!! He was being treated with whipwoms at the shelter but now he is worm free! And plans to stay this way.. I just love love love him sooooo. Thank you guys for bringing him into our lives. We are truly the LUCKIEST ones.. Thank you!
What a great dog that Greg showed us! This dog has been a blessing, and is living a very happy life. Thanks to everyone at the shelter!. Remington is half Husky and half Greyhound.
